Does the Primal Bod Program Work?

Yes it does. Its not a diet, its a lifestyle.

Are you tired of trying to lose weight when nothing has worked? What to eat? Exercise? Fasting? This is my review of the Primal BOD, the modern weight loss program with Candi Frazier.

About Me – Can You Relate?

A little bit about me. I am 54 years old, five years post menopause, and have gained weight over the years. I noticed that I started to gain weight without making any changes to my diet at all. My activity went down as well, but still not sure if that was one of the reasons I gained 20 pounds within a year and then another 10 pounds I started BHRT to help with sleep, did the estrogen patch which caused be to bleed (not a period just a result of the patch) so I stopped and continued to take progesterone and testosterone topically and I continued to gain weight, so my weight loss journey began. I tried vegan HCG, vegetarian, Paleo, keto, juicing cleanses, you name the diet, and I probably tried it, but nothing seemed to work.

Not Primal BOD

My journey before Primal BOD

About a year ago. I started to see trending posts about the carnivore diet, which I thought was very interesting. My weight was 166, I felt horrible. I started to incorporate some of the ideas and I saw that I started to feel better and I slowly was losing weight. I followed the program for about six months on my own, and I lost 30 pounds, but then I plateaued. I stayed at 136 for about four months, and I just couldn’t lose the weight.

Carnivore diet

During this time, I was following Primal Bod  on Instagram and trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, this entire time. I did not pay any money to lose the weight and I thought I’m not gonna pay any more money, but I was stuck and need guidance. I didn’t like how I looked at my body . I had trouble gaining muscle, even though I went up to the gym three or four times a week and I was just frustrated. Do you feel the same?

Before 136, after 121 pounds

After I signed up for Primal BOD

So, in January 2025. I decided to sign up for the program and was I impressed. Candi gives a course a college-level course on nutrition and how the body operates. Here are some of the topics:

How to deal with sugar cravings, glycogen stores, cellular topology, understanding domestication, sunlight, the facts of blue light, melatonin, cold therapy, hot therapy, metabolism, and so much more.

You are given six weeks to complete the program. Each week comes with a list of homework that you are expected to do during the process. You will have access to a coach. If you have the basic program, you can email any questions about what’s going on in your body. Disclaimer: the coaches cannot answer questions about:

  • Medical Conditions
  • Lab Work
  • Personal Issues

Nor do they diagnose, cure, treat, or reverse disease.

But they do make suggestions as to where you can go online to research for yourself to make a decision on what to do with any medication you are taking.

Weight Loss Program Details for Primal Bod

If you purchase the full program, you have access to a private Facebook group, where coaches go in and answer questions. In addition there will be live Zoom that you can attend as well .(click here to sign up)  I personally did the basic program. Just because I’m pretty good at figuring things out, but if you need that type of support, it does cost more money, but it is available to you.

After you complete the six weeks, you are given six more weeks to have access to all the videos and continue your weight loss journey. The goal at the end of the program is to find your Goldilocks amount of protein that works for you, and work your way up to a 48-hour fast, which you learned by feasting and fasting. You learn how much protein your body needs based on your activity level and height. Once you find that you will continue to burn weight and burn visceral fat.

I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to lose weight and visceral fat.  I know that the price is high, and it is recommended to purchase a ketone monitor to monitor or keystones to test daily, in addition to incorporating a weighted vest in your walks to help, build muscle. Just consider it an investment and you. You deserve this, and you can lose the weight.

I get a lot of messages, asking questions and one question I get a lot is. Can I do this diet if I’m vegetarian, and the answer to that is “NO: see below a photo from Candice website, stating reasons why this program would not be for you.

My suggestion is try to follow the program as closely as possible for the 6 week course and eat according the the fuel guide and do the homework. After you have lost the weight, you can incorporate foods that you love.

Other frequently asked questions:

1. Do I need to buy a weighted vest for the walking?

No I only got mine halfway through the program and l’d already lost a heap of weight just walking normally, but it does help. Click here to purchase the vest.

They are great for burning extra calories so if you wanted one, you could always put books in a backpack and see how you like it before buying a weight vest.

2. What’s the refund policy like?

They have a 7 day trial. 7 days to check it out and if you don’t align with it, apply for a full refund before day 8 ticks over and they’ll send your money back no drama 🙂

3. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding it’s recommended you wait til you’re done nursing to start the program.

4.  Is there anything else I need to buy outside of the program itself?

A ketone monitor and strips. If you want to add glucose testing you can. Most ketone monitors do test glucose as well. Click here for a link to the one recommended.

If you don’t yet have a scale to weigh yourself or measuring tape, those would be helpful to get as well so you can track your progress with data

5. Do you do sprints? If you do, how often and when (ie after a meal/first thing in the morning fasted etc)?

Yes, I like to do it after I’ve eaten breakfast – I do mon/wed/fri as that suits my schedule. Between 3-6x 100m

6.  What Can I Drink on the Primal Bod Diet? Can I Drink Coffee on Primal Bod?

Distilled or sprint water is your best friend. I like to add lime or lemon. Some sparkling water on occasion is fine and there are exactly three teas that are allowed on the Primal Bod Diet. You can drink coffee on the program, but she strongly discourages it and explains why in the program.  It was so fascinating to learn all of these things during the program. I now know why I have been suffering so much and why some of my loved ones still struggle to become healthy.

On a side now it is recommended supplement is iodine because typically as humans we are deficient and iodine. Clink here for recommended iodine. Also, it’s recommended to test your vitamin D levels. If your vitamin D is not an optimal range, then a vitamin D supplement could be recommended, spend more time in the sun, or go to tanning Salon. I take a sardine oil because I have low amounts of DHA. So if you eat a lot of fish, caught liver, cod or, salmon, you probably wouldn’t need that supplement. Candy really focuses on getting your nutrients from your food and the coaches are there for you if you have questions.
